Our Products

We work hard to ensure we stock only the best of type!  Rest assured everything is taste tested by our expert quality control operatives.  For your purchasing peace of mind, we make sure we get the freshest brews available from our breweries. If you feel we have fallen short of the mark we offer a no quibble refund in the rare event of you not liking something you ordered.
Our mission is to champion the real craft breweries of the UK, from one man or lady in a shed to those breweries that are a little bigger. We want to bring them together on our website in order that you, the great British beer, cider or spirit drinker, can try the freshest, most delicious brews from the furthest reaches of the country. Some of these great brews, you might otherwise never find in your locality and certainly not in your average supermarket! The supermarkets may or may not be cheaper but their range is often limited to the big players therefore if you order from us you can feel good in the knowledge that you are supporting a chain of small businesses from us to the breweries we champion, whose passion is creating hand crafted great brews. Plus the more you order the more bottle caps you earn to claim free drinks, now you don’t get that from a Supermarket. We are also on hand should you wish to chat about craft drinks and get a beer, cider or spirit recommendation – most supermarkets don’t offer that!

We use packaging specifically designed for the drinks industry. This can consist of thick double walled cardboard outer boxes with dividers or with 'pulp safe' inserts that hold the bottles in place in transit. Inside the boxes we will always use alot of cushioning such as bubble wrap, crushed up thick craft packing paper and biodegradable packing peanuts or a combination of these solutions depending on the products being packed. Whichever is used, we strive to achieve the safest, most firm pack ready for shipping.

Delivery & Returns

Standard Delivery - estimated to arrive within 3 to 5 working days from date of dispatch.

Express Delivery - estimated to arrive within 1 to 2 working days from date of dispatch.

During busier periods such as Christmas or Fathers Day, please allow a little extra time for delivery.

We are hoping to offer Next Day delivery soon.

Orders are processed Monday to Friday. By the weekend we’ll have earned a beer or three!

We want to keep our delivery plain and simple so all Standard Delivery is £5 and Express Delivery is £8 to UK & Scottish* mainland addresses regardless of quantity ordered.

Standard and Express Delivery on orders over £50 are FREE

*Due to the remoteness of some parts of Scotland and its Islands, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man and Isle of Wight, The Channel Islands and the Scilly Isles there will be an additional surcharge of £6**. This will be applied to your order at checkout based on your location and postcode. Please do allow an extra day or two longer for delivery of these orders. **Please note, in the event of a Free Delivery promotion, the base £5/£8 delivery charge will not apply but the following surcharges will still apply in the relevant areas.

At present we are unable to deliver to other International locations but bear with us as it may be possible in the future.

Top tip - Make the most of your order, our boxes are for 6 or 12 bottles so if you don’t fill them you’re paying to ship air!

At The Beer Detectives, we aim to deliver a hassle free service and we are therefore happy to receive returns and issue refunds.

Returns Period

If for whatever reason you wish to return your goods, you can return them up to 14 days after receipt to qualify for a full refund (minus the original postage), providing the goods are returned in perfect unused condition* and where possible unopened and/or in their original packaging with any labels attached. If goods are returned after 14 days, we will offer you a credit note to choose again.

*We reserve the right to refuse a full refund, if the goods are returned in a non-resaleable condition except where you have informed us of the damage.

There are a few ways you can return an item, let us know which one is best for you -

1. You can return it with your own courier, just let us know which one, the tracking number and expected delivery date.

2. We can also arrange the return collection by courier if you would like us to. Email us at for more details.

(Where possible repack the item(s) in the original packaging to avoid breakages and return your parcel to us using the address indicated on your invoice. We advise all customers must return goods via insured courier or recorded delivery and to keep the proof of postage. This will cover you if the goods are lost or damaged in transit. We cannot accept liability for goods lost or damaged in return transit.)

Please fill in the form that came with your order and pop it in the box so we can process your return quickly.

Who pays for returns?

Returns are sent at your own expense, unless the return is a result of our error (e.g. you received an incorrect or defective item). Return costs in this case will be covered by us and if required, replacement products sent to you free of charge. Any queries please email us at

How long will it take to receive my money back?

All refunds will be issued to the same payment method as the original order and will be processed within a maximum of 7 days once we have received and processed the returned item(s). In most cases this will happen much sooner and we will email/text you on the day the refund is processed as long as we have your contact details.

We hope it never happens but should your order arrive and something is damaged in the box, please get in touch with us asap so that we can get on the case and send out any necessary replacements. If damage in transit has occurred please send us a quick photo of the damaged item and box/packaging so that we can make sure our packaging is better in future. Where this has occurred because of our or our third party provider’s error, we will send out replacement items to you for Free.

Website and Orders

We are never closed to online orders - its 24/7 even on bank holidays and Christmas Day. Our office/warehouse hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. We are closed at the weekends for a well earned beer or two!
That’s something we never want to happen so email us at and we’ll get right on the case.
No, we will never put the amount spent in the box so if it’s a gift you can rest easy the recipient won’t know what you have spent.

Our system should tell you if something is out of stock or not let you order it. However if this should occur we will contact you to suggest a substitution or offer a refund on all or part of your order.
